舊約聖經
東正教承認51卷書為舊約正典;天主教承認46卷書;新教承認39卷書。新教的39卷書等同於猶太教《塔納赫》全文。天主教聖經比新教多出的7卷書,稱為「次經」。新教認為「次經」不屬正典,但有參考價值;不過,各宗派對其價值有不同評價:聖公會《三十九條信綱》(下稱《信綱》)第6條稱該7卷書為「別的書」,「教會用作生活楷模和教訓而誦讀,但不用它們去建立教理」;新教的其他宗派,有些認為並非神默示而所以沒有權威價值,但也有些認為有重要參考價值。東正教、天主教和新教的中文譯名差異很大,但大部份英文譯名都相同(只有些少例外),例如第一卷書,希伯來文書名是 בְּרֵאשִׁית,字面意思是「起初」、「起源」,東正教、天主教和新教的英文譯名都譯作 Genesis,但中文卻有不同譯名。
新約聖經
東正教、天主教、新教的新約聖經,內容相同,都是27卷,每卷書的英文譯名都相同,但中文譯名卻不一樣;書卷的次序通常相同,但斯拉夫教會、亞美尼亞使徒教會、衣索比亞正教會則例外。
Hebrew Bible and Old Testament
The Tanakh (the Hebrew Bible) contains 24 books. The Old Testament of the Christian Bible contains the same 24 books, but divided into 39 books and ordered differently. The Roman Catholic Church and Eastern Orthodox Church (Orthodox Catholic Church) also hold that certain deuterocanonical books and passages are part of the Old Testament canon. The Anglicans read the apocrypha “for example of life” but not to be used “to establish any doctrine” (the Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion, XXXIX), shown in green below.

New Testament
The New Testament contains 27 books. The list below shows the arrangement in the Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant traditions. However, the Slavonic, Armenian, and Ethiopian traditions have different New Testament book orders.
The Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, and Assyrian Christian churches may have minor differences in their lists of accepted books.
